Pune police | 13 arrested, 33 sickles, 8 swords, a chopper seized in All Out Combing Operation by Pune Police

Pune : Policenama online  – Pune police | The Pune police conducted an All Out Combing Operation in the city on Wednesday and Thursday. In all, 33 sickles worth Rs 10,720, eight swords worth Rs 3,700, a chopper worth Rs 500 were seized while 13 suspects were arrested. In all, 38 cases were registered during the action.

All police stations in the city and the Crime Branch took part in it. Squads comprising police officials, personnel from the police stations and Crime Branch were formed. They took action during the combing operation in various parts of the city. The mega operation was carried out from 11 pm on Wednesday till Thursday midnight.

Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta issued orders to undertake preventive action against criminals, to look thoroughly for suspects, suspicious incidents at hotels, lodges, dhabas, ST and railway stations and at other public places during the operation. Around 3,213 suspects were checked among them 817 criminals were found.

The Crime Branch and following police stations participated in the operation and took various actions: Khadak, Faraskhana, Swargate, Sahakarnagar, Bund Garden, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Warje Malwadi, Sinhagad Road, Khadki, Yerawada, Chandan Nagar, Hadapsar, and Loni Kalbhor.

Crime Branch Unit 1 held Karan alias Thomb Bhanudas Aglave (18) and Namdev Mahendra Kamble (21) in a case filed at the Khadak police station. They also caught a minor and seized copper pipes worth Rs 6,000 from him.

Crime Branch Unit 3 arrested habitual criminal Akshay alias Janglya Raju Bhalevar (25), a resident of Dapodi Gaothan, in a case filed at Bhosari police station.

Crime Branch Unit 5 held Pankaj Vitthal Kamble (19), a resident of Hadapsar, in an offence lodged at Hadapsar police station. They also caught a juvenile delinquent and handed him over to the Hadapsar police. Crime Branch Unit 6 arrested Kanwarsingh Kalusingh Tak (21), a resident of Hadapsar, in a case filed at the Nigdi police station.

The Anti Extortion Cell held Piyush alias Kanha Satish Jadhav (19) of Shivane and seized an unlicensed pistol and cartridge worth Rs 25,100 from him. An offence was registered at the Uttam Nagar police station in this regard.

The Anti Narcotics Cell 1 arrested two persons within the limits of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station and seized marijuana and MDM pills worth Rs 95,200. The Anti Narcotics Cell 2 held one within the Yerawada police station limits and seized marijuana valued at Rs 80,000.

Eight persons were arrested by police stations under the Bombay Prohibition Act by filing 18 cases. Valuables worth Rs 15,100 were seized from them. Preventive action was taken against 102 accused under the CrPC Act and Maharashtra Police Act. Moreover, 181 hotels and lodges were checked.

The action was taken on the orders of Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta.
