Pune: Road Rage Escalates as Rickshaw Drivers Assault Car Driver in Pimpri; Case Registered Against Four

Pune / Pimpri: On Saturday evening, at the Gokul Hotel Bus Stop on Pimpri Railway Station Road, four unidentified rickshaw drivers brutally assaulted a car driver following a dispute over road space. The victim, identified as Bhushan Vasant Satokar (37), a resident of Saidham Society in Dhanori, sustained serious injuries during the attack.

The altercation began when Satokar, preparing to drive away in his car bearing registration number MH 12 BE 8386, found his path obstructed by a black and yellow rickshaw. Requesting the rickshaw driver to move aside for his car, Satokar was met with hostility as the driver not only verbally abused him but also assaulted him.

The situation took a more violent turn as three more rickshaw drivers joined in, escalating the assault on Satokar. The plaintiff was not only verbally abused by the assailants but also subjected to physical blows, including punches to his nose. Shockingly, one of the attackers even wielded a stone, inflicting further harm on Satokar and resulting in a fractured nose bone.

Promptly, Bhushan Vasant Satokar lodged a complaint at the Pimpri Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the four assailants under sections IPC 325, 324, 323, 504, 506, and 34. The sub-inspector of police, Palwe, is currently spearheading the investigation into the incident.
