Pune: Son’s marriage held concealing his ‘gay’ status; parents-in-law, husband booked on woman’s complaint

Pune: The parents of a man arranged his marriage concealing the fact that he was a ‘gay’. However, his status was exposed after the marriage. His wife approached the police and lodged the complaint. The police booked the man and his parents.

The Chandan Nagar police booked the 28-year-old husband and his parents under sections 498 (A), 420, 504, 34 of the IPC on the complaint lodged by the 34-year-old woman.

According to the details, the complainant stays in the Vadgaon Sheri area. She got married to the 28-year-old man in July 2022. However, she realized that he was a gay after the marriage. When she told this to her parents-in-law, they started mentally and physically torturing her. She was told to get money from her parents to buy a car.

However, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint. She stated, in her complaint, that her parents held the marriage of their son despite knowing that he was a gay. The Chandan Nagar police lodged a complaint in this regard and were investigating further.
