Pune: Sword-Wielding Robbers Strike in Koregaon Park: Sandalwood Tree Stolen, Guard Threatened

Pune: In a daring early morning robbery, a group of six assailants brandishing swords struck at the Ekantika Apartment in the Koregaon Park area, threatening a security guard and making off with a valuable sandalwood tree. The incident, which occurred between 3 a.m. and 3.45 a.m. on Monday (18th), has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting swift action from Koregaon Park Police.

Rajaram Narayan Bodu, a resident of Tadiwala Road, Pune, filed a complaint at the Koregaon Park Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the six unidentified perpetrators under IPC 395, along with the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act. According to police reports, the accused, armed with swords, confronted Bodu, who was stationed as a security guard at the apartment complex.

Threatening him with killing if he raised an alarm, the assailants forcibly took possession of the sandalwood tree, valued at Rs 15,000, from the apartment where Bodu works before fleeing the scene. Assistant Police Inspector Dattatraya Ligade is spearheading the ongoing investigation into this case.
