Pune: Traffic Violation Alert! Sinhagad Police Booked Parents for Allowing Minors to Drive Without Licence

Pune: A significant action has been taken by the Sinhagad Road Police, in which police registered a case against the parents for letting their minor children drive vehicles in spite of them having no licence regarding it. In this regard, Sinhagad police seized the vehicles from the accused, and a case has been initiated against their parents.

This action was taken by the Sinhagad police on March 25. On the occasion of the Dhulivandan festival, a blockade was imposed at Tukai Nagar Circle, Sinhagad College Road, on Monday on the order of Police Commissioner Sambhaji Kadam.

During the inspection, police officers saw two boys riding bikes. When stopped and questioned, police found that the boys were minors and did not have a valid driving license. Accordingly, a case has been filed under the Motor Vehicle Act against the parent or owner of the vehicle who allowed both children to drive the two-wheeler. Police Commissioner Shravan Shewale has filed a complaint in this regard.

Vehicles have been confiscated in this operation. A letter has also been issued to the Regional Transport Officer, Pune (RTO) not to issue driving licences to minors until they complete the age of 25 as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. Apart from this, a letter has also been given to the RTO to cancel the license of the impounded vehicles for one year. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle 3, Sambhaji Kadam.

At this time, Pune police appealed to all the people not to allow their minor children to drive vehicles without a driving license. Pune police said that if someone, especially minors, finds themselves driving vehicles without a driving licence, stricter action will be taken against their parents or the owners of the vehicles under the appropriate act.

This action was taken by a team of police personnel, including Police Sub Inspector Suresh Jaibhai, Police Constable Shravan Shewale, Deepak Gabdule, and Home Guard Sonwane, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Joint Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar, Additional Commissioner of Police Western Regional Division Pravinkumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhimrao Tele, and Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar.
