Pune: Woman, Lover, and Accomplice Arrested in Husband’s Murder Plot in Pimpri Chinchwad (Video)
Pune: The anti-gang squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch has made a breakthrough arrest in a chilling murder case, unravelling a sinister plot involving a woman, her paramour, and an accomplice. The victim, identified as Rahul Sudam Gadekar, met a tragic end on February 23, around 10:30 p.m., on the road from Mauje Chimbli, Berge Vasti, to Kuruli village.
Rahul Gadekar, a 36-year-old resident of Narhe Ambegaon, Pune, was fatally attacked while commuting to work at Volkswagen Company in Chakan MIDC for a night shift. The assailants struck him on the back of his head with an iron hammer, leading to his demise. The Alandi Police Station registered a case in this regard.
The arrested suspects include Supriya Rahul Gadekar (30) from Ahmednagar, the victim’s wife, her paramour Suresh Motabhau Patole, an army personnel residing in Dehugaon, Pune, and his associate Rohidas Namdev Sonawane (32) from Ahmednagar.
Investigations by the anti-gang squad involved scrutinising CCTV footage from various locations, including the crime scene, the Volkswagen Company, and Narhe Ambegaon. Additionally, technical analysis of Supriya’s mobile number facilitated her apprehension, enabling authorities to delve deeper into the intricate web of deceit.
The unravelling narrative reveals a disturbing tale of betrayal and conspiracy. Supriya, employed as a nurse at Navale Hospital in Narhe Ambegaon, was entangled in a clandestine affair with Suresh Patole, stationed in Delhi. Their burgeoning romance fuelled animosity towards Rahul, whom they perceived as an impediment to their relationship. Thus, a sinister plan to eliminate Rahul took shape.
Patole, on leave in December 2023, enlisted Rohidas’s assistance and procured iron hammers, laying the groundwork for their heinous act. On February 10, the duo attempted Rahul’s murder near Ghargaon village but failed. Undeterred, they meticulously planned his demise, leveraging Supriya’s intimate knowledge of Rahul’s whereabouts.
Supriya’s treachery extended further as she provided crucial information to the assailants, including Rahul’s temporary residence in Barge Vasti. On February 23, as Rahul embarked on his nightly commute, Suresh and Rohidas ambushed him, executing their sinister plan with fatal precision.
Following the murder, Suresh resumed his military duties while undergoing training in Hyderabad, before his eventual arrest. Rohidas was apprehended near his residence. Investigations uncovered Rahul’s insurance policy worth Rs. 1 crore, with Supriya allegedly intending to allocate a portion of the insurance proceeds to the perpetrators.
During their court appearance, Supriya was remanded until March 18, while Suresh and Rohidas were remanded to police custody until March 19.
