Railway Budget : Rs 31 crore for Pune railway station, Rs 21 crore for Hadapsar terminal

Pune : Policenama online Allocations have been made for various projects for the city and the State in the Railway Budget 2022-23. Rs 21 crore has been allocated for the Hadapsar terminal while Rs 31 crore has been granted for yard remoulding and platform extension works at the Pune railway station.

 

The highest allocation of Rs 1,566 crore has been made for the Pune-Miraj-Londha route. Nominal amounts have been sanctioned for the Pune-Nashik semi high-speed corridor and the Baramati-Lonand route.

 

Maharashtra has got around Rs 11,903 crore funds for various projects in the Railway Budget, which has focused on infrastructural projects. It has good tidings for Pune. The Pune-Miraj-Londha railway route’s double-tracking and electrification has got capital and EBR funds of Rs 1,566 crore. This will expedite the double-tracking work.

 

Hadapsar terminal development

The Hadapsar terminal is being constructed to ease the load on the Pune railway station. Three platforms and two new stabling lines are being built at Hadapsar. A new RRI cabin is also being set up. An allocation of Rs 21 crore will transform the Hadapsar terminal.

 

Yard remoulding at Pune railway station

Rs 31 crore has been sanctioned for the Pune railway station yard remoulding and platform extension. Platform no. 2, 3 and 6 will be extended to accommodate 24 rakes. Hence, trains will not have to halt at home signal.
