Mumbai : The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Tuesday has made significant disclosures in the murder of Mansukh Hiren, owner of a gelatin sticks laden Scorpio car found near Antilia, the home of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

The ATS has said that suspended Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze is the main accused in the Mansukh murder case. The ATS will seek the custody of Vaze to investigate this. At the same time, ATS has seized a Volvo car from Daman. Which is expected to give clues to the murder of Mansukh Hiren.

The ATS suspects that this car was used in the murder of Mansukh Hiren. After the car was brought to the ATS office in Thane, the forensic team investigated it. The car is registered in Maharashtra itself, but its owner could not be ascertained.

ATS chief Jayjit Singh said, “Vaze’s role in Mansukh’s murder is questionable.” Vaze did not provide the correct information in his reply to the ATS. In his reply to the ATS on March 8, Vaze said that he had nothing to do with Mansukh’s death. He does not know Mansukh and has never used an explosive-laden Scorpio car.

Jayjit Singh said that the accused have destroyed evidence of SIM cards, mobile phones and CCTV footage. Currently, Vaze is in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). On March 25, when the NIA presented Vaze in court, the ATS will demand Vaze’s custody.

The NIA has been entrusted with the investigation into the death of Mansukh Hiren, but the ATS is still investigating it. The ATS has so far arrested former constable Vinayak Shinde, convicted in the cricket bookie Naresh Gaur and Lakhanbhaiya encounter case. Shinde used to get instructions from Vaje.
