Supreme Court ask centre to consider bringing a law to regulate mobile app-based taxi services like Ola and Uber, for safety and security of women passengers.
Earlier too the bench of justice Madam B Lokur and Deepak Gupta agreed to examine the plea for setting up of a regulatory mechanism for internet-based service providers after it was alleged that some of the companies are foreign-based and were not willing to come with the jurisdiction if Indian courts.
Last year too, Delhi HC had directed app-based cab aggregators to furnish driver details and get records verified by police.
