Spreading awareness about cancer is the need of the hour: Dr Sumit Saha
Pune : Policenama online – India has the third highest incidence of cancer in the world. It is a matter of concern. There are many types of cancer such as intestinal cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, etc. Hence, any cancer symptoms should not be neglected, said Dr Sumit Saha on Friday, World Cancer Day (February 4).
Dr Saha was speaking in a seminar jointly organised by the Dr. Sumit Shah Prolife Cancer Centre and Research Institute and NGO Udyogini Parivar. The seminar titled ‘Awareness and Treatment on Cancer among Indian Women’ was held on the occasion.
The meet was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp. Dr Saha, Sanatkumar Kabul, Girish Ingle, Pallavi Wagaskar, corporator Hemlata Magar were present.
“If you have any of these symptoms such as change in your voice and acidity for over 2-3 weeks, you should immediately meet your doctor and undergo a check-up. Awareness needs to be spread in urban and rural areas about cancer,” said Dr Saha. Members of Udyogini were present in large numbers. Dr Saha clarified their doubts.
