Pune: Voting for the Baramati election is scheduled for phase 3 on May 7. When less than a week has remained for the voting, both sides have ramped up their campaigning. Amidst these, Mahayuti’s candidate for Baramati constituency, Sunetra Pawar, attacked her opponent, Supriya Sule, for not bringing any big projects to the constituency in the last 10 years.

Sunetra Ajit Pawar said, “In the last 10 years, the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has suffered a lot because of development stagnation. Because the current MP chose to sit on the opposition benches, not a single big project came into the Baramati constituency. But now the voters have decided to fill the backlog of these development works from the last 10 years. And, therefore, I believed that people would elect me with the biggest margins in this election.”

On the background of the Baramati Lok Sabha election, Sunetra Pawar gave an interview to the Lokmat newspaper. At that time, she freely expressed her opinions on many issues.

When asked, does she feel the pressure of contesting the election for the first time? She answered, “The politics are not new to me. Since my childhood, I have grown up seeing politics in my house. Similarly, in the last 25–30 years, I have been personally active in many social activities. Therefore, I have the capacity to understand people’s questions and resolve their problems.”

While speaking on why people should choose her, she said, “In spite of the fact that our MP is from the opposition group, Modiji has done tremendous work in Baramati constituency. He built roads, highways, bridges, etc., in the constituency, and the wise voters are aware of it. If we have the MP on the ruling party’s side, then it will help us to work with the central government to bring funds into the constituency and do the developmental work. Therefore, I believed that wise voters knew all these things, and they would elect me by pressing the button in front of the clock symbol.”

She further said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and both Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar are hardworking leaders. If we elect MP of their choice, then Baramati Lok Sabha constituency will get the booster of ‘Triple Engine’ of development. Therefore, I believed that people would elect me by a large margin.
