Strict Punishment : No more lynching, violence

Policenama Online : Over the last five years country has experienced several incident of mob lynching or violence in various parts, including Uttar Pradesh or etc. But Now Kamal Nath led Madhya Pradesh government is going to make a stringent law to curb mob lynchings in the state in the name of the cow. Strict action will be taken person who calls themselves ‘Gaurakshaks’.

Government are planning to come up with the news law as existing law do not mention about violence or mob lynchings in the name of cow. If bill will passed and law came into force, then he/she can be jailed for up to five years and also to pay penalty.

Recently, a 24-year-old man was allegedly tied to a pole and thrashed with sticks by a mob in Jharkhand’s Seraikela Kharsawan district last Wednesday on the suspicion of theft. The youth succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

The newly-married man was purportedly seen in a video being forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’. Hundreds of people protested against the youth’s lynching and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

Breaking his silence on the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said it has pained him and the guilty must be severely punished, but stressed that all kinds of violence in the country, whether in Jharkhand, West Bengal or Kerala, should be treated in the same manner and law should take its course.
