Agartala, Dec 27 (UNI)- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and two of his top officers, eventually three of whom possessed medical degrees, saved an artist who suddenly fell ill during a performance where CM was the Chief Guest along with his cabinet members and officials of the government.

According to a report, an artist from the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department, while performing in the inaugural program of the Tripura Institute for Transformation (TIFT), fell down in a vasovagal attack, which was caused by an insufficient flow of blood in the brain after standing for a long time.

“The incident sparked a shock among all, but the Chief Minister rushed to the patient and resuscitated him, who was followed by two other doctors in the administration: Secretary Health Service Dr Sandeep R Rathod and District Magistrate of West Tripura Dr Vishal Kumar,” said Director ICA Bimbisar Bhattacharjee.

He pointed out that Adhiraj Debbarma, a folk artist, was alright with the initial treatment by the Chief Minister, and later he was shifted to the IGM Hospital here for further treatment and medication.

He was admitted to the hospital for two days and released on Wednesday, but nothing critical was diagnosed for him.

The act did not go amiss with the audience who witnessed as to how a Chief Minister immediately turned a doctor—his original profession—when the call came, he said, adding, “This act of quick thinking and compassion not only underscored CM’s dedication to his profession but also showcased his deep sense of responsibility beyond the political sphere.”
