VP, Speaker extend Good Friday greetings

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and others on Friday extended their warm wishes to the people on the occasion of Good Friday.

 

“Good Friday reminds us of the profound sacrifice made by Lord Christ for the sake of humanity. On this day, let us resolve to follow the path of compassion, kindness and forgiveness, shown by Lord Christ,” the VP wrote in a tweet.

 

Extending his greetings, the Speaker in a tweet wrote, “Birla Good Friday is a day to reflect gratitude and bow our heads to the Almighty. It gives us opportunity to reiterate our faith in eternal virtues of love, mercy and peace. Today, Let us rededicate ourselves to service of humanity and spread message of compassion, harmony and brotherhood.”

 

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also took the micro blogging site and wrote, “On Good Friday, let the spirit of compassion, forgiveness and empathy guide our path. Let there be kindness, peace and humanity, all around us.”

 

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi also extended his warm wishes on the occasion.

 

“May this Good Friday fill every heart with love, peace and compassion,” he tweeted.
