They include engineers from architectural, electricity and engineering departments. Meanwhile, it has come to light that soon, superintendents and clerks are going to be transferred. There is a rule that an officer from grade 1 to 3 has to be transferred to another department. The rule was made to prevent an officer from developing a nexus by working in one department for many years. However, no transfers have taken place in PMC for many years. It has come to light that transfers have not taken place for six years.
City unit chiefs of Congress and Shiv Sena Arvind Shinde and Pramod Nana Bhangire had submitted a memorandum to Administrator and Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar requesting him to transfer various civic officials. They had alleged that corruption was taking place in transfers by violating the transfer rules of PMC. Now, the civic administration has transferred 132 junior engineers.
109 engineers of the architectural department, 17 from the electricity department and six from the engineering department were transferred. Sachin Ithape of the General Administration Department said that the transferred engineers had been immediately handed over their transfer orders. Ithape said that now, transfers of clerks and superintendents will be transferred.
