MUMBAI : Policenama online NCP Chief Sharad Pawar | NCP President Sharad Pawar said that while submitting his resignation, Uddhav Thackeray did not have discussions with alliance parties and he should have done so to gauge their views. Pawar was speaking during an interview with a news agency. He spoke about the controversy about forming JPC on Adani Group issue, early morning swearing-in ceremony, comments made by Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis and other issues. Pawar also gave advice to politicians in the state. (NCP Chief Sharad Pawar)

“The MVA Government was formed by three parties and they all had participation in the government. If anyone wants to resign, it is his or her right. However, it is necessary to conduct a dialogue with other parties before submitting the resignation. If a decision is taken hastily, it leads to problems. Unfortunately, there was no discussion at that time,” Pawar said.

Pawar expressed disappointment over allegations and counter allegations between the BJP and Thackeray group. “I know the culture and mindset of people in Maharashtra. Don’t indulge in personal criticism. Hold discussions on political issues and problems facing the people. Leaders should not comment on personal things and hurl accusations against each other. The leaders have to consciously avoid such things,” he said.

It appears that Sharad Pawar has changed views on forming a JPC to probe allegations against the Adani Group. He said he is not opposed to forming a JPC if other parties want it.

“My friends’ opinion is different from mine. However, we want to present a common front. I expressed my views but if other parties want JPC, I will not oppose it. I don’t agree with their views but I will not create a split in the opposition,” he added.
