Pune : Policenama Online – The sleuths from Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Pune rural police have arrested a couple who used to steal ornaments from wedding venues. With their arrest, police claim to have solved 17 cases and recovered 920 gram gold ornaments, Rs five lakhs cash, 10 phones and a car, totally valued at Rs 37 lakhs.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vilas Mohan Dagade (28), a native of Solapur, and his wife Jaishree (25), who lived here at Chandan Nagar.
According to police, they used to be well dressed and came in a Swift Dzire car to wedding halls, to make sure that nobody has any suspicion about them.
After several cases of thefts were reported, Superintendent of Police Sandip Patil, Add SP Jayant Meena and Vivek Patil directed the LCB team to nab the thieves.
A team led by Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanvat nabbed the couple at Samrudhi Lawns in Yavat, when they reached there to commit theft.
