Amravati : Policenama online – Amravati Crime | A large amount of cash has been seized from two four-wheelers heading out of the city from the Farshi stop area of Amravati city. The action was taken by the local Rajapeth police on Tuesday (27) around 5 am. Police have seized Rs 3 crore 50 lakh cash from two Scorpio vehicles. The incident has caused a stir in Amravati district. It is learn that the money was being transport through a hawala racket.
According to the police, they got a tip regarding a large amount of hawala racket being transport from Amravati. After that, the police set a trap and took this action. Two Scorpio vehicles were intercept this time at the Farshi stop area. Amravati police said that Rs 3 crore 50 lakh was seiz from them.
Police have arrested four Gujarat citizens with huge amounts of cash. A special type of space was creat in the vehicle to hide the money, police sources said.
In order not to arouse any suspicion, space was provided created under the car seat. 3 crore 50 lakh cash was hidden in it. Police were also shocked upon seeing such a huge amount in cash. The Treasury and the Income Tax Department have been informed about the incident. Police are conducting further investigations.
