Aurangabad: Municipal Corporation saves Rs 3.36 crore by installing LED lights

Mumbai : It has come to light that Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has benefited a lot from the use of LED lights. These lights helped in saving a lot of electricity in the Municipal Corporation. As a result, NMC has benefited not a little but about Rs. 3 crore 36 lakhs.
A few days ago, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation had replaced 40,000 old lamps with LED ones. Since then, the municipality has been earning around Rs 30 lakh per month in electricity bills.
Earlier, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation was getting electricity bill of around Rs 1.25 crore per month. However, after the installation of LED lights, the electricity bill has come down to Rs 95 lakh. Therefore, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has received great relief.
People will have to pay their electricity bills, no electricity bill will be waived,” Energy Minister Nitin Raut told reporters on Tuesday, after which politics in Maharashtra is now high on this issue.
