Centre releases Rs 73K crore as additional installment of tax devolution to states

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI)- In view of the forthcoming festivities and the New Year, the Centre has authorised the release of an additional installment of tax devolution amounting to Rs 72,961.21 crore to states.

The move is set to help states in further financing various social welfare measures and infrastructure development schemes.

“This installment is in addition to the tax devolution installment due to States on 10 January 2024 and the installment of Rs 72,961.21 crore already released on 11 December 2023,” Finance Ministry said in a media release.

As per Finance Ministry, an amount of Rs 2952.74 crore has been released to Andhra Pradesh while Uttar Pradesh has received Rs 13,088.51 crore. An amount of Rs 5,488.88 crore has been released to West Bengal.

Among other major states, Rs 4,396.64 crore has been released to Rajasthan. While Rs 4608.96 crore has been released to Maharashtra, Rs 5727.44 crore has been released to Madhya Pradesh.
