Pune Crime News | Complaints lodged against Ravindra Dhangekar, Hemant Rasane and Rupali Thombre Patil for violating poll code

Pune : Policenama onlinePune Crime News | Complaints were made against both main candidates in Kasba Peth bypoll i.e. Ravindra Dhangekar and Hemant Rasane and Rupali Thombre Patil for violating the model code of conduct of the Election Commission. Taking cognisance of the complaint, poll officials have started taking action. An FIR of non-cognisable offence has been registered against Hemant Rasane at the Vishrambaug police station. On the voting day, BJP candidate Hemant Rasane had gone to the polling station by wearing a muffler around his neck which had a BJP symbol. He voted while wearing the muffler. NCP’s Rupali Thombre Patil had complained to the election observer. According to the code of conduct, no one is supposed to use any party’s symbol to influence voters within 100 metres of the poll booth. Since Rasane has violated this rule, an FIR has been registered against him.

 

After the campaign had ended, MVA candidate Ravindra Dhangekar had alleged that BJP was distributing money to voters and had gone on a fast. A complaint against Dhangekar for violating the code of conduct had been made.

 

A complaint had been made against Rupali Thombre Patil for violating the poll code because she had made viral, a photo of the EVM.

 

The Election Returning Officer of Kasba Peth constituency, Sneha Kiswe, said that complaints had been received against Dhangekar, Rasane and Thombre Patil for having violated the code of conduct and action is being taken.
