In Kasba Peth bypoll, Hemant Rasane and Ravindra Dhangekar are locked in a fierce battle. However, Dhangekar’s allegations have created a flutter in political circles.

Reacting to Dhangekar’s allegations, BJP MLA Madhuri Misal said, “Ravindra Dhangekar knows he is going to lose the bypoll in Kasba Peth. Hence, he is levelling wild allegations against the BJP. This is an insult to voters in Kasba Peth and they would never tolerate it. Dhangekar has started searching for reasons for his defeat even before the polling.”

What are Dhangekar’s allegations?

“After submitting the nomination form, we are abiding by the rules of the Election Commission. However, BJP activists have distributed money in the presence of the police. Girish Mahajan was moving about in the constituency accompanied by criminals. It was expected that the police would take action but instead our activists are being threatened. The police did not take any action even after we submitted a memorandum to them. The BJP has throttled democracy and I have gone on a fast to save our constitution,” Dhangekar said.
