Crime Branch raid in Kondhwa area; cocaine worth Rs 2 cr seized from a Nigerian national

Pune : Policenama online –  Pune Crime | The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) 1 of Pune Police Crime Branch laid a trap and arrested a Nigerian national, who was selling narcotics in the Kondhwa area. Cocaine worth Rs 2 crore has been seized from the arrested accused. The accused is a criminal on police record and has recently come out on bail from Yerawada Jail. The action was taken on Thursday on the road leading to Mantarwadi in Undri. (Pune Crime)

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Folarin Abdulazees Andoyi (50) from Undri, native of Nigeria. An FIR has been filed against the accused at the Kondhwa Police Station under the NDPS Act. Police constable Praveen Uttekar has filed a complaint in this regard.

 

While the police officers of ANC1 were patrolling in the Kondhwa Police Station area, Police Constables Pravin Uttekar and Pandurang Pawar got to know that a Nigerian national was selling cocaine in Undri Mantarwadi area. While the police were searching for the accused, it was found that the accused was suspiciously standing with an i10 car on the road in front of R Point Society on the road leading to Mantarwadi.

 

When the police detained the accused and searched him, they found cocaine in his possession. Police seized 1.81 kgs of cocaine worth Rs. 2.16 crore, a mobile phone, i10 car, two electronic weighing forks, Rs 70,000 in cash, thus a total items of Rs 2.20 cr have been seized. Earlier, a case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Chatuhshrungi police station and he has come out on bail from Yerawada Jail a few days ago.

 

This action was taken by a team comprising Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Dhengle, Shailaja Jankar, Police Constable Praveen Uttekar, Pandurang Pawar, Manoj Kumar Salunke, Vishal Dalvi, Sandeep Shirke, Sujit Wadekar, Rahul Joshi, Vishal Shinde, Sachin Malve, Sandesh Kakade, Rehana Shaikh, Yogesh Mohite under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police Crime Ramnath Pokle, DCP Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime-1 Gajanan Tompe.
