First 36-guntha land acquired for Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway Project, Rs 1.72 crore compensation paid — File Photo

Pune : Policenama online – The first acquisition of a private land was made on Friday for the Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway project, in which Rs 1.72 crore were paid for 36 gunthas of land. This indicates that the project which is very important for the development of Pune district is being expedited. District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh and Land Acquisition Officer Rohini Akhade got the land measurement done while the sale deed was also completed.

Land owner Chandrakant Gangaram Kolte of Perne village in Haveli taluka got five times more compensation than the Ready Reckoner Rate.

Land from 51 villages in Pune district will be acquired for the project. Land measurement was completed within a record time of eight months. The complicated process of fixing the land rate was also done within one-and-half months. Around five times more than the Ready Reckoner Rate is being paid for land while 2.5 times more compensation is being paid for assets on land such as constructions, irrigation systems, trees, and orchards.

Deputy Collector and Land Acquisition Officer Rohini Akhade said, “Land from 12 villages will be acquired from Haveli taluka. We completed the land measurement work and fixed the land rate in a record time under the guidance of District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh. Hence, the first sale deed was done and compensation disbursed on Friday.”

The ambitious Pune-Nashik high-speed railway project will be very important for Pune district. Moreover, the distance between the two cities will be reduced to two hours. Land will be acquired from 51 villages from Haveli, Khed, Ambegaon and Junnar talukas of the district. Land measurement has been completed in almost all the villages.

Railways is bent on completing the project in time. The Union Railway Ministry has fixed a deadline for the Revenue Department. Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar is also looking into this railway plan and the ring road project. He holds meetings to review their progress every month.

In this backdrop, District Collector Dr Deshmukh deployed a special machinery to measure land and completed it within time.

The Pune-Nashik semi high-speed two-lane route is 235 km long. Trains on the route will run at 200 kmph. The route will pass through three districts of Ahmednagar, Nashik and Pune. In all, 18 tunnels and 41 flyovers will be built on the route. The project cost is estimated to be Rs 1,500 crore.
