Pune, Mar 28 ( UNI) : Punyashloka Ahilya Devi Holkar Award | State Minister for Higher and Technical Education and District Guardian Minister Chandrakantada Patil said here on Tuesday that a plan should be prepared for the construction of Mahila and Balvikas Bhavan in Pune district, for which funds will be provided through the District Planning Committee. He was speaking at the Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar divisional and district level award distribution program organized by the Women and Child Development Department. Commissioner of Women and Child Development Department R. Vimala, Deputy Commissioner Rahul More, Deputy Commissioner Dilip Hivarale, Divisional Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Mane, District Women and Child Development Officer Ashwini Kamble were present in the program.

 

Guardian Minister said NGOs implement the schemes of the government by giving their personal contribution. This work is done spontaneously for self-satisfaction, to satisfy the hunger of the soul. It is done to see happiness on the faces of others. Diversity should be increased in this work and activities should be implemented keeping in mind the needs of the society.

 

He urged that more efforts should be made to overcome the shortcomings in the society and to resolve the problems of women.

 

If they report the problems faced by various individuals and organizations in the field of women and child development, sincere efforts will be made to solve them, he added.

 

Mr Patil further said the government is trying to ensure that women get a place of honour in the society. Women have been given 50 per cent discount on ST bus tickets. He said under the ‘Lake Ladki’ scheme, a subsidy of Rs 5,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,000 will be given to a girl child in yellow and orange ration card holder families.

 

In the introduction, Mrs. R. Vimala said, the award given in the name of Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar is an inspiration for many. Ahilya Devi Holkar has put forward the ideal of social work through her work. Taking inspiration from their work, the awardees appealed to them to set an example for others with their work.

 

Government took many important decisions for women. For the advancement of women, the cooperation of every section of the society with the government is necessary, she added. She also said Women’s Child Development Department is working for marginalized women and destitute children.

 

Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar departmental and district level awards were distributed to various institutions and individuals of Guardian Minister by Patil.
