Haveli Joint Sub-Registrar suspended

Pune :Policenama online   – Private persons were registering documents at the Joint Sub-Registrar office Haveli No. 22. This was revealed after the Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Deputy Controller of Stamps paid a surprise visit to the office. Senior officers immediately suspended Joint Sub-Registrar AK Nandkar. Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps Shravan Hardikar issued Nandkar’s transfer order.

Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Deputy Controller of Stamps Govind Karad paid the surprise visit at the Joint Sub-Registrar office Haveli No. 22. Nandkar was not present in his office. Operators Parmeshwar Gadle, Laxmi Devare and private persons Ganesh Ahire, and a woman were present. The OTP needed to enter at the computer to register documents was being received on private person Karanjikar’s mobile.

Senior officials noticed that the document registration work was going on at Nandkar’s office in his absence. Operator Parmeshwar was doing the valuation work on the computer. Another operator Laxmi Devere was also preparing receipts for additional pages needed for the documents. Another private operator Ganesh was doing data entry work. Govind Karad also observed that a private person identified as Karanjikar was stamping the documents.

Joint Sub-Registrar Nandkar was supposed to be present at his office while document registration work was going on. However, the registration work was being carried out in his absence, which was a serious matter. Many people were waiting to register their documents for a long time in his absence. Taking a serious note of this, Karad submitted a report to Hardikar, following which Nandkar was immediately suspended.
