JD(U) dismisses media reports on resignation of Lalan as party president

Patna, Dec 26 (UNI)- JD(U) on Tuesday dismissed media reports on the resignation of Lalan Singh as party president, saying it is all speculations having no basis and truth.

Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told media persons that there was no truth in media reports on resignation of Lalan Singh as party president. Such reports were purely media speculations having no basis, he asserted.

“I have no knowledge and also there is no information about resignation of Lalan Singh in party office”, Chaudhary said adding that all such reports were being created in media only.

It had been decided to hold national executive committee meeting of JD(U) in New Delhi on first half on December 29 while national council meeting would be held in second half on the same day, he said.

The Finance Minister said that issues would be discussed in the meeting, relating to newly floated opposition alliance INDIA and also on how to counter BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

In 2025, Bihar Assembly election would also be held and it would be in focus of the discussion during the meeting, he added.

As it is, news of resignation of Lalan Singh had appeared in media which prompted Chaudhry to talk to media persons to dismiss it as only speculations. Only media was speculating the resignation of Singh, he remarked.
