Maharashtra breaks its own record with vaccinating over 8 Lakh in a day

Policenama – Maharashtra State on Saturday broke its own record by administering vaccines to over eight lakh people in a day.

According to reports, on June 26, the state had inoculated 7,38.704 doses in a day.

The state is at the top position in-country for administering vaccines. While Uttar Pradesh (UP) is in the second position by administering 3.26 crore vaccine doses followed by Gujrat who has inoculated 2.65 crore vaccine doses till July 3.

As per the state health department data, a total of 48.05 lakh doses have been administered in the Pune district. This number comprises 19.55 lakh people in the age group 45 years and above who have got the first dose while 7.13 lakh have got both jabs. The number of people in the age group 18-44 who got the first dose of vaccine is 14.69, while 37,199 got both doses of vaccine in the same age group.

Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray tweeted about the state’s record. He tweets, “Maharashtra’s new record in vaccination: Crossed 8 lakh shots in a day. 8,01,847 till 9 pm. Till Saturday, 3,39,11,029 shots have been administered in the State. As and when vaccines are supplied to the State & private sector, the vaccination is at record numbers.”
