While investigating the case of the unidentified body that was found near Katraj Tunnel the police cracked the case of murder over an alleged illicit relationship.
Police have identified the deceased as Anand Gujar (44), a resident of Akurdi. Bharti Vidyapeeth police have arrested godman and head of the Math Ramesh Vilas Kumbhar (49), his disciples Yadda Yogesh Nikam (19), and Amol Ramdas Baddam all three residents of Walhekarwadi and deceased’ wife Saroj Anand Gujar (40), a native of Kharghar near Panvel.
According to police, on Saturday morning passersby informed about the unidentified body of a person near the new Katraj tunnel. During the investigation, Bharti Vidyapeeth police found a two-wheeler near the body.
When checked the details about the vehicle, it was found that the registration number was the bike was fake. Later the basis of the chassis number police managed to identify the deceased as Anand Gujar.
An investigation by the police revealed that Gujar’s wife who owns an Idea company agency had been living in the Walhekarwadi Math for the last six months. She has also gifted a Brezza car to the Maharaj.
When Bharti Vidyapeeth Police questioned everyone in the Math, they found out about the murder.
Anand Gujar had gone to Math on Friday evening and had a heated argument with his wife and the Maharaj. In a fit of rage, his wife, Maharaj, and Maharaj’s disciples beat him with a wooden baton resulting in Anand’s death. The Maharaj planned to dispose of Anand’s body and took it in a car and dumped it near the tunnel. To show it an accident they changed the registration number plate of the Anand’s two-wheeler. Later it was also dumped near Anand’s body.
