Many challenges in banking sector : Gadkari

Nagpur : Policenama Online –  Union Minister for Highways and Road Transport Nitin Gadkari said that the banking sector in the country is right now facing many challenges on various fronts on Saturday in Nagpur.

The Union minister was in Nagpur for inaugurating zonal office of Indian Bank. Gadkari also listed ensuring transparency and giving returns on deposits as challenges before the banking sector.

He said that people.should pay their loans on time to the banks.

Gadkari further said that it was incumbent upon banks to ensure that loans sanctioned under various public welfare schemes get disbursed quickly.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that bank loans in the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector will be sanctioned in 59 minutes and it will be connected with GST and Income tax. Those having a good track record get their loans sanctioned quickly,” he said.

He additionally stressed on the necessity to encourage the handloom and handicraft industry for making employment opportunities and boosting growth within the MSME sector.

The minister aforesaid that the ‘Solar Charkha’ cluster were launched within the cotton belt of Vidarbha from wherever export quality ready-made clothes will be manufactured.

‘Solar Charkha’ is the initiative of the MSME ministry to make sure inclusive  growth by generation of employment, especially for ladies and youth, and sustainable development through solar charkha clusters in rural areas.

Gadkari conjointly talked concerning giving extra land to HCL Technologies operational in Mihan (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur).
