Pune : Policenama online –  Mula-Mutha River Rejuvenation Project | The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has floated a tender for the development of both riverbanks from Bund Garden Bridge to Mundhwa under the Mula-Mutha Rejuvenation Project. The work will be done on the public-private-participation (PPP) basis.

The civic body has already floated a tender for both riverbanks development from Sangamwadi to Bund Garden. Both the banks of Mula-Mutha river will be developed under the project. Pitching of around 44-km of riverbank will be done while the river will be deepened. Moreover, gardens, small playgrounds, jogging tracks, cycle tracks and leisure centres will be built on the riverbank at various places. Tree plantation will also be done on a massive scale.

The river current will be freed at some places by desilting the river. A boating facility will be provided from Sangam Bridge to Bund Garden Bridge. Permissions will be taken from the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and other departments concerned and the flood line violation will not happen while implementing the project.

The estimated cost of the plan is Rs 7,400, including GST. Rs 650 crore will be spent on the Bund Garden to Mundhwa stretch. A tender for this was floated on Wednesday.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on January 1 while tenders will be opened on February 7. Project Superintendent Engineer Yuvraj Deshmukh revealed this.
