Pune | Techie commits suicide in Walchand Nagar
Pune : Policenama online – Pune | An engineer staying in Walchand Nagar in Indapur taluka committed suicide after he received a show cause notice from his company for remaining absent.
The youth has been identified as Abhishek Prabhakar Sangar (24), a resident of Post Colony in Walchand Nagar. His father Prabhakar Sangar informed the police station about the incident.
According to the police, Abhishek was working in a reputed information technology company in Pune as a software engineer. Because of coronavirus pandemic, he was working from home for last 20 months.
The company had made it mandatory for all staffers to come to office since last two months. However, Abhishek did not report for duty in the office. The company had sent a message to him asking to explain why he had not resumed work.
His family members tried to explain the situation to him but he left home on Tuesday. He committed suicide by jumping into a lake in Walchand Nagar. Police Naik Bansode is carrying out the investigation under guidance from Assistant Police Inspector Birappa Lature.
