Pune: Accused minor in hit-and-run case admits to offence

Pune: The accused minor in the hit-and-run case, in which two persons died in Kalyani Nagar area on Sunday, has admitted that he committed the offence during the police investigation. Five persons have been booked and arrested in the case.

The accused minor said, “I have neither learnt car driving nor do I have a driving licence. Yet my father handed over his grey Porsche car to me. He also allowed me to party with my friends in a pub. My father knows that I drink.”

The minor accused is the son of renowned builder Vishal Agarwal, who has also been booked for handing over the car to his minor son and has been arrested. Moreover, Cosie Pune’s owner Pralhad Bhutada and manager Sachin Katkar as well as ‘Black’ bar owner Sandip Sangle and manager Rajesh Bonkar have also been booked for allowing entry to a minor to their bars and pubs.

Vishal Agarwal also said before the Juvenile Court that his son was an alcoholic. The accused minor’s father is equally responsible for the incident as he knew about his son’s addiction.
