New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called an all-party digital meeting today to discuss the situation on the India-China border. The meeting has been called at a time when opposition parties are seeking detailed information about violent clashes between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. 20 soldiers, including a colonel of the Indian Army, were killed in a violent clash with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh on Monday night.

This is the largest military confrontation between the two countries in more than five decades. This has further aggravated the already existing deadlock on the border between the two countries. The meeting to be chaired by the Prime Minister may include JP Nadda, Sonia Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee, Uddhav Thackeray, MK Stalin, Edappadi K Palaniswamy, O Panneerselvam, N Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharad Pawar and Nitish Kumar.

Apart from these, Akhilesh Yadav, D Raja, Sitaram Yechury, Naveen Patnaik, K Chandrasekhar Rao, Sukhbir Badal, Chirag Paswan, and Hemant Soren are also likely to be included. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party, RJD and AIMIM have not been invited. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had asked the Prime Minister on Wednesday to tell the truth about the clash.

Rahul Gandhi released a video saying, “Two days ago 20 soldiers of India were martyred. China has grabbed our land. Prime Minister, why are you silent? Where are you hiding?” The Congress leader said,”Prime Minister, you should come out. The whole country, we are all standing with you. Tell the truth to the country. Do not be afraid.”

The BJP retaliated by saying that Rahul Gandhi through his various tweets attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and behaved immaturely and irresponsibly, while the Prime Minister called an all-party meeting with China on the border dispute. He said that Congress leaders want to show that the soldiers were left unarmed to die.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday while paying tribute to the Indian soldiers who were martyred in violent clashes with the Chinese army, said that losing soldiers in the Galwan Valley is very disturbing and sad. Singh tweeted that the Indian soldiers fought with indomitable courage and valor while performing their duty and sacrificed their lives.
