Pune crime | 830 cases of illegal registration reported in Pune; Two officers suspended
Pune : Policenama online – Pune crime | Shocking information has come to light that the city registration office has registered 198 cases without registration number of MAHARERA and 630 cases have been registered against 635 by breaking the blockade order. Therefore, the Deputy Registrar and Assistant Deputy Registrar of Haveli 14 (Bhosari) Document Registration Office have been suspended in this case.
Senior officials in the state government paid a face-to-face visit to check whether the registration of documents in the secondary registrar’s office is being carried out properly. An investigation into it revealed this shocking incident. There are more than 24 secondary registrar’s offices in the city. This number is expected to increase further as such a large number of documents have been registered in the same office in violation of the rules. Also, the investigation has found that the government lost Rs 20 lakh due to wrong classification in one case.
The state government established MAHARERA in 2016. As per the provisions of MAHARERA, projects of 500 square meters or interior of eight flats are excluded from the registration of certificate of MAHARERA. However, every project has to be registered with MAHARERA. The same rule has made the certificate of registration number of MAHARERA mandatory while selling flats in such projects. Despite this, it has been found that in the office of 14 Deputy Registrars of Haveli, the Deputy Registrar has registered 195 cases for knowingly ignoring the rules. Also, despite the fragmentation law being enforced, about 635 cases within 10 gunthhas have been registered. Therefore, the Deputy Registrar of this office, L. A. Bhosale has been suspended by Inspector General of Registration Shravan Hardikar.
