Pune : Policenama online – Trial run of Pune Metro was done at 7 am today. The trial run was held in the presence of Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar and Mayor Murlidhar Mohol. A 3 km stage is ready between Kothrud Depot and Ideal Colony.
The first ‘trial run’ of Pune Metro on Vanaz-Ideal Colony route on Vanaz-Ramwadi route in PMC area was shown a green flag by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and a replica of Pune Metro coach was unveiled.
The technical test of Pune Metro between Vanaz to Garware College was held on July 10. “We are ready for Friday’s trial run. Details will be given later,” a Pune Metro official said yesterday.
Earlier, a trial run of Pune Metro was conducted in a 6 km stretch between Pimpri Chinchwad and Phugewadi. Work on the rest of the strip is in progress. Half of the underground tunnel between Shivajinagar and Budhwar Peth has been completed. The lockdown during the Corona period had hit the Pune Metro. Therefore, the duration of the project has been extended.
