Gang of criminals arrested for planning to loot petrol pump
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | Officials of Unit 3 of the Crime Branch arrested a gang of criminals when they were planning to rob a petrol pump on the Shankarsheth Road.
They have been identified as Ganesh Mallesh Raichur (27), a resident of SRA Building, Katraj, Sadik Feroz Khan (22), a resident of Lohianagar, Suraj Nandu Sakat (22), and Sagar Raju Avaghade (30), a resident of Lohianagar. One of their accomplices managed to escape. They are notorious criminals on police records. Havaldar Santosh Kshirsagar has filed a complaint at the Khadak police station.
A team of Unit 3 of the Crime Branch was patrolling the area on Tuesday at 9 pm when they saw that some people were hiding in the darkness near Chunnikrupa building near the petrol pump on the Shankarsheth Road.
The police arrested them and searched them. They found a nylon rope, chilli powder, keys, moped and mobiles. When they were questioned, they admitted to having gathered at the place to commit a dacoity at the petrol pump.
