Pune Crime | Illegal moneylender Ashish Patne booked by Kondhwa police for demanding Rs 22 lakhs for a loan of Rs 7.5 lakhs

Pune : Policenama online – A person was reportedly given a Rs 7.45-lakh loan by a private moneylender, who charged an interest of 12 percent and forcefully took money. Though an interest amount of Rs 4.15 was paid, the moneylender demanded Rs 22 lakhs from the borrower and threatened him. (Pune Crime)

 

The Kondhwa police have booked Ashish Patne of Kondhwa for illegal money lending. A 32-year-old businessman residing on NIBM road has lodged a complaint in this regard.

 

According to the police, the complainant, in the first instance, had borrowed Rs 45,000 and paid back Rs 55,000 with interest to Ashish Patne. Later, he took Rs 7.45 lakhs for his business at different times from Ashish Patne during 2020.

 

The accused cut the interest of the first month and forcefully took money by charging 12 percent interest on the loan. Patne also abused the complainant for not repaying money on time. Though the complainant has paid Rs 4.15 lakhs as interest on loan. The accused demanded Rs 22 lakh at an interest rate of 12 percent and threatened him. API Madhale is investigating the case.
