Pune Crime | Businessman duped of Rs 1.98 crore on the pretext of getting luxury cars at cheaper prices
Pune : Policenama online – A city-based businessman has been cheated of Rs 1.98 crore by promising to sell him a BMW Sports Car and a Mercedes GLE 300D car at discounted prices. (Pune Crime)
Kunal Rajendra Jain (31) of Convent Street has lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi police station. Arjun Raj, a resident of Mumbai, has been booked in this regard. (Pune Crime)
According to the police, the complainant has a car showroom in Baner. Accused Arjun Raj won confidence of the complainant by promising to sell him a BMW Sports Car and a Mercedes GLE 300D car at discounted prices. Raj asked Jain to deposit over Rs 1.33 crore in a bank account of BMW Infinity Cars Pvt Ltd, Mumbai and over Rs 65 lakhs in an account of Mercedes T&T Motors Pvt Ltd, New Delhi. The accused prepared forged letterheads of complainant’s Kings Car Care LLP.
The accused then bought the two cars and sold them without the complainant’s knowledge to others and cheated him.
