Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | In a shocking incident, a murderous attack was launched on a suspended policeman by a gang of nine in Pimpri Chinchwad. The reason behind the attack could be an arrest in an earlier crime. However, it was learnt that the gang was making a lot of noise on the road and the victim tried to stop them.
Earlier, the said policeman was suspended in a serious matter.
The injured policeman has been identified as Parmeshwar Tukaram Sonake (41), a resident of Anusaya Niwas, Adarsh Nagar, Police Colony, Dighi. An attempt to murder case has been filed against Aniket Hemraj Wani (21), a resident of Shivshankar Colony, Chakrapani Vasahat, Bhosari), Suraj Khilare, Anil Chavan, Bhagat alias Dharmesh Singh, Ganesh Sable, Rahul Agham, Rahul Jadhav and others at the Dighi police station. Wani and Khilare have been arrested.
According to details, Parameshwar Sonake is working in the Pune police. He was posted at the Chandan Nagar police station. He and another policeman were suspended from the police force.
Sonake on Tuesday was returning after visiting his friend’s house. Some youngsters were making loud noises on a road at Mamata Chowk. He asked these youngsters to stop the noise and went away in his car. As he reached the Dighi octroi post, Aniket and his eight associates stoned his car and hit Sonake with stones. Aniket was arrested previously. With an intention to take revenge, he chased Sonake’s car and stoned and damaged it. Later, the gang escaped by spreading terror, stated the complaint. The Dighi police were investigating the case.
