Pune crime | Woman dies after falling off city bus; driver’s mistake exposed after four months
Pune : Policenama online – Pune crime | A woman passenger had died after falling from a PMPML bus four months ago. The police had registered an accidental death case in this matter. However, the police detected the reason behind her death after four months.
An FIR was lodged against the driver of the PMPML bus. Police investigation revealed that the accident had happened due to the negligence of the driver. The Loni Kalbhor police were investigating the case further.
The victim was identified as Mahadevi Gorakh Gaikwad. She was travelling in the bus on March 29, 2021. She had to get off at the bus stop near the Dhanlaxmi weighing bridge at Wadki village. She intimated the driver that she wanted to get off and approached the exit door. The driver had opened the bus door.

As the bus stop neared, she tried to alight. However, the bus driver did not halt the bus. The woman lost her balance and was thrown off the bus. She died on the spot due to a serious injury. The Loni Kalbhor police had registered an accidental death case. However, the police investigation revealed the negligence of the driver.
A case was filed against PMPML bus driver Pravin Shivaji Kad. He did not halt the bus even after the woman had asked him to do so. The case has been registered under various sections of IPC.
