Pune crime | Youth held for carrying unlicensed pistol, firearm seized
Pune : Policenama online – Pune crime | The anti-extortion squad 1 of the Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested a youth for carrying an unlicensed pistol. The action was taken on Saturday near Mahavir Society at Gadital within the limits of Yerwada police station.
A country-made pistol and two live cartridges have been seized from his possession. The accused has been identified as Shubham alias Dangya Jagannath Shelke (21), a resident of Gadital, Yerwada. An offence has been registered against him at the Yerwada police station.
The anti-extortion squad 1 officers and other personnel were patrolling within the Yerwada police station jurisdiction. Police constable Atul Sathe got a tip-off that a person was moving at Gadital carrying a country-made pistol. The police laid a trap and arrested the accused. A country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from him.
Under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge, ACP Laxman Borate, the squad’s PI Vinayak Vetal, API Sandip Bua, PSI Vikas Jadhav, constables Sathe and Sanjay Bhapkar, Ramesh Choudhar, Gajanan Sonvalkar, Nitin Kamble, Amar Pawar participated in this action.
