Pune : Policenama online – The MPSC has prepared a list of candidates who had cleared the exam in December 2020 for interviews. The name of deceased Swapnil Lonkar is in the second position for an interview scheduled on January 7 at 8 am.
Lonkar had cleared both the preliminary and main exams of the MPSC exam held in 2019 and the preliminary exam in 2020. The MPSC aspirant who had studied hard and prepared well for the exam was depressed as there was no interview call. He committed suicide on June 29 at Phursungi after waiting for two years for an interview call.
After hearing that Lonkar’s name has been included in the list, his friends and family were in tears.
When the incident took place, there was a lot of discontent in the students. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad had held an agitation at the Pune Collector’s Office alleging that the state government is responsible for Lonkar’s suicide. In the state legislature, opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis had criticised the government for the incident. Fadnavis had even read out his suicide note in the house.
