Pune: A contrasting picture can be seen in the two main opposing alliances in the city. Following the announcement of Ravindra Dhangekar’s candidature by the Congress, office-bearers are not turning up for the state-level meets. However, other aspirants from the BJP have started working for the official candidate, Murlidhar Mohol, after party leaders cleared their doubts.
Mohol has been meeting party leaders and prominent people from various walks of life in the city. He met BJP former MP Sanjay Kakade who has a strong network in the city. Kakade was also an aspirant for the Lok Sabha poll. However, he has clarified that he would work for the party candidate with full strength.

Former BJP City Unit President Jagdish Mulik was also a strong contender for the party ticket. However, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis cleared his doubts. Now, Mulik has also started campaigning for Mohol. He has instructed all office-bearers from the assembly seat to work for a maximum lead for the BJP candidate. He also held a meeting with the women’s wing.
