Pune News | Visiting Sinhagad Fort is a costly affair for tourists, police slapped a fine of Rs 88,500

Policenama online : Pune News |  Pune Rural Police penalized as many as 177 revelers visiting Sinhagad Fort and violating Covid-19 norms and collected a fine of Rs 88,500 on weekend.

Police were deployed on various spots near the fort and roads leading to nearby tourists destinations. Tourists from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad and nearby areas were fined by the police.

Pune Rural Police also took action in various other famous monsoon tourists places in the district including Khadaksawala, Panshet among others.

The police administration has taken action against 525 tourists who came to Lonavla city and rural areas on Saturday and Sunday in violation of rules.

In two days, Lonavla city police took action against 127 tourists and fined them Rs 50,000, while Lonavla rural police took action against 398 people and collected a fine of Rs 2.1 lakh.

The action was taken at monsoon tourist spots like Sinhagad fort, Panshet dam, Bhor, Velha, Kamshet, and Junnar.

Stern action was also taken on tourists visiting Mulshi. Around 88 revelers were slapped with a fine of Rs 45,000 on the Weekend. According to police most of them were not wearing masks.

Earlier on Saturday, Bhor police had fined 107 tourists and collected a fine of Rs 53,500. Kamshet and Paud police fined 23 and 35 tourists respectively. While 33 tourists out in the Junnar area were also finned by the rural police.

Recently Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, and Pune district Guardian minister had asked Pune rural police to take stringent action against revelers visiting tourists spots in the district on weekends. The Pune district has Level 3 restrictions due to a positivity rate of above 5.
