Pune: Police arrested a most wanted criminal in vehicle theft case. The accused has been identified as Suraj alias Papya Jadhav (20), a resident of Bhavani Peth. There are a total of 17 cases registered against him.
Police constable Hemant Perne got a tip-off that the accused was waiting for someone even after he was deported. Based on the information received, Samarth police set a trap and arrested him.
The accused was deported by Circle One Deputy Commissioner of Police Priyanka Naranware in 2020 for two years. During the police interrogation, he confessed to stealing a vehicle from the premises of Samarth police station with the help of Akash Patole.
This action was taken under the guidance of Senior Inspector of Police Vishnu Tamhane, Inspector of Police Ulhas Kadam, and led by a team of Sub-Inspector of Police Vishal Mohite, Constables Santosh Kale, Sushil Lonakar, Subhash Pingale, Nilesh Sable, Hemant Perne, Sham Suryavanshi, Sachin Pawar, Sumit Khutte, Vitthal Chormale, Subhash More and Mahesh Jadhav.
