Pune Police Crime Branch News | Notorious criminals stealing two-wheelers arrested by Crime Branch; Six two-wheelers worth ₹3 lakh seized
PUNE : Pune Police Crime Branch News | A team of unit 4 of Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested two persons for stealing two-wheelers from various parts of the city. Five crimes have come to light with their arrest and six two-wheelers worth ₹3.10 lakh have been seized from them. The action was taken on Wednesday (June 28) on Aundh Road near Khadki railway station.
The accused have been identified as Rohan Alias Bond Balya Ashok Mhetre (22), a resident of Katraj and Akshay Alias Vashya Bharat Waghmare (23), a resident of Bibvewadi. The accused had stolen many two-wheelers by breaking the handle locks at night and were using them by removing their number plates.
The officials and policemen of unit 4 of Pune Police Crime Branch were patrolling in their jurisdiction. Policemen Ajay Gaikwad and Saras Salvi got information that two two-wheeler thieves were standing near Khadki railway station. The police laid a trap and apprehended Rohan and Akshay with a two-wheeler. When they were questioned, they admitted stealing vehicles from Budhwar Peth, Bibvewadi, Katraj Undri, Swargate and Dandekar Bridge at night.
Three Honda Activa, two Duo and a Hero Splendor motorcycle totally worth ₹3.10 lakh were seized from them. Crimes committed by them in the limits of Faraskhana, Swargate, Parvati, Kondhwa and Bharati Vidyapeeth police stations have come to light. The accused have been handed over to the Faraskhana police station for further action.
