Pune: For the past couple of days, there has been anticipation in state politics that Sunetra Pawar, the wife of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from the Mahayuti alliance. The Baramati Lok Sabha seat has been a long-standing bastion of the Pawar family. However, after Ajit Pawar cut all his ties with uncle Sharad Pawar and formed an alliance with the BJP and Shinde’s Shiv Sena, there have been a lot of speculations regarding who will contest the Baramati Lok Sabha seat against sitting MP Supriya Sule.

Though Mahayuti has not officially declared its candidate for the Baramati seat, it is widely anticipated that Sunetra Pawar will contest the Baramati Lok Sabha seat against Supriya Sule. This contest between Sunetra Pawar and Supriya Sule is all the more special because this is the first political fight between the Pawar family.

After it was cleared that Sunetra Pawar would take on Supriya Sule in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Sule and Sunetra Pawar had long avoided meeting each other. On the Baramati Rojgar Melawa, which was organised in Baramati a few days ago, Sule and Pawar seemed not to be welcome towards each other.

However, this standoff may soon come to an end, as there are discussions that Sule and Pawar will be seen together on the occasion of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Beej event in Dorlewadi. Every year, Sant Tukaram Maharaj Beej is celebrated at Dorlewadi in Baramati taluka. For many years, Supriya Sule has been participating in the program on the occasion of Tukaram Beej. It has been learned that Sunetra Pawar will also attend this event this year.

Every year, a lot of devotees flock together at Dorlewadi in Baramati Taluka for Sant Tukaram Mahaaj Beej. Therefore, it is learned that for its celebration, MP Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar will attend the event today. In their respective pre decided official campaign lists, it has been mentioned that Sule will attend the event at 11:00 a.m., whereas Pawar is expected to attend the event at 11:15 a.m. Earlier, Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar came face-to-face at a temple in Jalochi in Baramati, where they hugged each other.

In a separate development, the Maratha Kranti Morcha has announced its intention to field a candidate from the Maratha community in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the Baramati constituency. Maratha Kranti Morcha held a meeting today at Jijau Bhavan in Baramati city. In that meeting, it was unanimously decided to field a Maratha candidate from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.
