Pune | Tata and Siemens join hands for Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Pune Metro corridor

Pune : Policenama online  – The metro corridor from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar will be developed by TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited (a Tata group company) and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH (subsidiary of Siemens Financial Services ) under a public private partnership route.

 

The joint venture has formed a special purpose company called Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited. This will be an elevated metro line connecting Hinjewadi Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park to Shivajinagar via Balewadi covering a distance of 23,3 kms with 23 stations. This will be the first metro project under New Metro Rail Policy.

 

The contract for electrical and mechanical system works of the project by Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited has been given to the consortium between Siemens AG, Siemens Mobility GmbH, Siemens Limited and Alstom Transport India Limited. The work is to be completed in 39 months. Siemens Limited will provide project management, turnkey electrification, signaling, communication and depot works (equipment). The order size of Siemens Limited is to the extent of Rs 900 crore (approximately).
