Puneites are fed up with BJP, Congress will bounce back in the Lok Sabha elections: Arvind Shinde

Pune: Former Leader of Opposition in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Arvind Shinde has criticized the administrator’s rule in the civic body. “Corruption has risen in the PMC’s works for the past two years. The State Government should take quick action and hold elections for the civic bodies in the State.

Shinde was speaking at a programme in the city recently. He said, “The Puneites have no idea how the tax money they pay to the civic body is spent. This is nothing but trampling of democracy. Self-governing bodies cannot remain vacant. Unfortunately, there have been no people’s representatives to raise civic issues faced by the people for the past two years.” He thanked the media for raising the issue.

‘Congress ready for the Lok Sabha’

Voters will express their anger through the ballot box in the Lok Sabha polls. The city has not got a single good project. The metro railway facility was approved by our government, which the Puneites are availing now. The BJP was merely focused on taking commission in civic works. Therefore, common citizens are fed up with the BJP. The Congress will make a comeback in the Lok Sabha elections. We are prepared for the polls.”
